    Ca18det issues car won't start

Right guys the car had been working and running fine and now 6 months on refuses to start. I've put a new ecu as the auto electrician said it was the ecu causing the issue so I'm £200 down and still refuses to work.

Not great with electrics but I hardwired the fuel pump to the battery with a fuse and toggle switch and I can hear it running but still won't start the car

What else can I do to get it running? It's got new plugs and was serviced before I put it away.

Where do I get new fuel pump relays the green fellas? As I assume mine are bad if the relays don't click or turn the pump on?

How do I test spark I tried to ground a spark plug and crank the car over but it's hard to do on your own 🤣

I'm going to ask a stupid question...

What did you do that meant it didn't run for 6 months ?

When it was running was it in daily use then got laid up for 6 months ? Why ?

Also, how did you manage to spunk £200 on an ECU ? s/h ones are £35 for a standard non-socketed ECU.

    Another stupid question,

Have you bolted in the ECU in properly?

As far as I know the ECU uses a bolt as an earth or something and if it isn't in properly it can cause issues (for me it was no spark on the plug nearest firewall). Worth a try to tighten it up if you are out of options?

Car was working fine when I took it off the road . Done some more investigating and I pulled all the green relays and used the jumper wire and the fuel pump primes and also checked spark. But didn't start so put it down to the relays and a low charge on the battery . Where can I get the relays from online? Think it just needed a new battery and the relays replaced

Not sure if you can get them. I have a spare I could send you so you could swap out the ones you think are dodgy.

^^^This is why no-one has sourced replacements.

OEM s/h parts are available for cheaps.
