    Going low and slow...

I thought i'd share my new financial mistake with you......
Its 19 feet long, has a 7 liter V8 with 360hp and er....its not fast!

At the moment its all original and totally stock, but in excellent nick for a fifty year old yank!

As you can imagine, i have plans for it... The engine will probably remain as-is, with just a straight through exhaust to amplify the already glorious engine note!
But i really fancy the Mobsteel/murdered style (if done right) something like this (not the rims mind):

I'll probably also start pimping it out for Proms/weddings etc, the bench seat in the front is a big hit with my kids

Some of the parts (airbags Etc) are already waiting to go on, with some paintwork probably happening in the spring, but for now...Watch this space!

    Personally, I prefer the before.

That's a lovely bit of Yank history. Pimping it seems wrong somehow.

Looks great. Please don't ruin it by 'murdering it out'

Another idea instead of the straight pipes is to get electronic cutout valves. You get the best of both worlds then! Nice a quiet so the neighbours don't moan, then ear poppingly loud at the flick of a switch. They even do remote controlled ones so you don't even need to be in the car to activate them!

Look forward to seeing how this goes! Can't wait to see it with all that boring chrome gone and sitting on the floor

I dig it, I like the 80's/90's low rider cars and hydraulics and the mini truck bed dancers /spinners, if its done well imo it will add value to it,
took a while to clock it but seems the electra in a 2 door is a rare beast state side
I like mikes exhaust idea as well

Pics have gone, looks cool though and I like the idea of dropping it with cut outs

    Pics should be back now

Thanks guys, i hadn't even thought about putting exhaust valves on it, strange really because i have one on my SX!

The body mods will be kept subtle, i just want to delete and smooth some of the trims etc, as for colour, i'm leaning towards something like the Audi "Nardo Grey" or Skoda "Meteor grey" with the bumpers wrapped in a black chrome. (so i don't need to ruin the chrome underneath)

As for wheels, it'll be steel smoothies with baby moon discs, probably 22" on the front and 20" on the back, so i can tuck the rears well up inside the arches to give it the "tail dragger" look.

Very smart! well into yank stuff atm

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Will look good with a bunch of the chrome trim taken off.
Stick a full air-ride system in it, can't get that mob look without it!

Will you need to hack the inner wheel well's to fit decent wheels on it?

I'm guessing it has the silencers in front of the axle with long over axle pipes and long tailpipes, the over run after the rev up was a clue
you could change how it sounds with an x pipe linking the two,Nascars used it as a power gain mod, then it became a street car mod
a single link forming a H would work as well with less of a power gain, still do the exhaust valves as well as that will sound awesome with them open
car looks pretty cool as it is tbh

Yes correct Andy, the crosspipe is on my 'to do' list but there's very little room under the gearbox and engine so it may have to go further back than i'd like , it should deepen the exhaust note apparently which is never a bad thing

Air-ride is now complete, the wheels and static stance are now sorted, along with some subtle trim deletes, its on to the 400 sq mtrs of bodywork next....

Looks fuggin awful lowered like that, no idea what you see in doing it.

I would have left it stock or with a modest drop, and a of course louder pipes.
