    S14a value?

Where are values at these days for good s bodies?

Im thinking later this year in summer it may be time for a change after 11 years of ownership. I'm thinking of scratching a tvr itch.

My car is a 2000 s14a sapphire blue on 46k miles
    Manual
    Nizmo s tune suspension
    R33gtr wheels
    Hks high power silent exhaust
    Decat front down pipe
    Apexi air filter
    Front mount intercooler
    Walboro fuel pump
Standard boost and always has been
    2 private owners

Overall condition is excellent as it's been my second car for entire ownership so garaged, sorn over winter and used only as an occasional weekend toy.

Im dipping a toe in the water as I honestly have no idea as there's not really much out there to compare against for s14a s bodies more s15s at the moment.

Sounds like a £6-7K car. Got any pics?

46k!! If it’s clean underneath and you’re in no rush to sell I’d be looking at 10k currently. You will have to accept that you won’t ever get another the same too.

I think about there as well what with current prices,46k two owners and stock boost is a rare thing with these and good selling point

Thanks guys. I really didn't know where to pitch it. It's really very clean. No rust. But I want to roughly know so I know how much I need for the replacement.

Looking at S15s I was think prices had crept up. I'm in no rush to sell to be honest and I want to enjoy it for spring and summer.

I'm not 100per cent sure I even want to sell as it's such a great car, never letting me down, whereas a tvr could be a different story. Some more pics. 10k, but I'd never get another ... Hmmm not sure what to do now.

I think that is how most long term owners describe them ,iirc jonny wilkinson had one and someone else on here.
hopefully one will chime in with an account of TVR ownership

Another shout for £9 to £10k! stunning

and it beats mine by 3000 miles

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Thanks! The tvr I'm thinking if replacing it with is the t350 coupe or targa. Any ownership experiences I'm all ears. Ive never driven one so was hoping to get out and do some test drives in the spring. I've fallen for its shape already and the noise well....is quite nice too.

Its a great base for someone to build off, I think you'll regret selling it though. So many ex owners come back saying they miss their 200 and wish they didn't sell.

As pointed out above if you change you mind and look to get back into a 200 it will be tough to match the quality you are thinking of selling.

It's a lovely car in those pictures but it's never going to sell for £10k.

but piman didn't you recently pay 15k for a car that was 6 to 7k in 2011/2012 ?,,, everything is on the up and last year at least 2 similar cars
sold at close to 10k via that jap import car sales place, so a 10k estimate ain't far off imo

I'd attempt to put it as close to standard as possible and stick it on some proper classic sites for £14k. You never know.

Please don't use the money to buy a TVR. There's a reason they stopped making them.

I've had 3 TVRs over the years. They are fun BUT they are also unreliable money-pits even when quite young. A t350 is going to be a few years old now and starting to go wrong for England.

Your 14a looks mint and I don't think you would have to wait long in the current climate to get 10K for it and you WILL have to wait a while for one to come along in that condition.

The only way I would sell a car like that would be if I was fed up with the hassle of older car maintenance and was going to invest in a nearly new sports car.

Swapping that for a TVR is going to be a life-changing experience (and not in a good way).

Swapping it for an LFA or a GTR R35 or an F-Type or even a Noble M400 or something makes some kind of sense.

But chopping it in for a TVR or a Merc SL500 or a Jag XKR 4.0 or a Maserati. There be tears.

It's almost a fair point, but the R32 value climbed because of a huge increase in market demand. The S14a didn't.

I hope it does go for strong money because it's a lovely looking car. But I believe it's optimistic. There's a bone stock and clean 67k miler in black for £8k here.

I would also recommend steering away from a TVR. They are sensational cars, and can be made reliable as my friend's Cerbera has. But he has paid heavily to create a reliable car. Heavily.

Love the TVR T350 shape and sound but will never buy one. One of my close mates used to work at a TVR specialist on engine build, mapping and general maintenance. As he said, "Great being a TVR specialist, there will always be a demand for engine work"
I've spoke to quite a few T350 owners at various open days and they all seem to have similar experiences, one guy had 3 different engines within his ownership. Could of been because he revved it from cold and didn't know what a dipstick was but he seemed fairly clued up so doubt that was it.
Gorgeous fun things non the less! A different close friend had a Griff 500 and I drove that quite a lot. Was super fun even when the water was leaking in and you didn't have a clue what any of the buttons did!
