I know you're not a fan...

But seriously, rwd, 3ltr, turbos, comfy, and seriously easy to turn the wick up. There's plenty out there at the moment too, likely people who can't stay off the loud pedal so can't afford the fuel bills needing to move them on, but still, you know it makes sense
For laughs, a newer Golf with the 2.0L derv, with the boost wound up to the max is actually quite amusing in the all or nothing power delivery - they give a real shove!
Teggers.
I have a jzx110 mkii NA for sale atm, its the 1jz fse motor. So its direct port injection and high compression, 200bhp 35-40 mpg, lovely 1jz sound.
I send you over the specs in a pm.
Appreciate all the suggestions guys! Many I have looked at, some I have not.
Jbsauce, nice to meet you today - weird coincidence but maybe its fate!! Looking forward to seeing the car tomorrow.
Get better painkillers and jump in a Caterham, if you get real heavy duty ones you might hallucinate the extra two door on it as well.
+1 for the Altezza
This is almost exactly what I was going to get imported until I bought my S13

I know speed is fun, but having a less powerful car is fun to thrash about with. When I was car-less, I picked up the cheapest car I could find locally, a classic impreza wagon (non-turbo ) and it is so fun to drive and not bad on the MPG. I even think it is more fine to drive than my old Evo as scratches and dents don't matter, it can be pushed hard everywhere you go, and when you spend £500 on the car you still have cash left over to buy a couple of beers at the pub.
Having the space of a wagon/estate is great, perhaps a Volvo?
If you are thinking luxo-barge, how about a Cadillac ?

There is a guy from Cardiff selling a RWD converted late Stagea - V6 turbo. Asking a bargainous £5000. Has Bride front seats you could make money back with and fit something comfy.

I would buy that
Does 'lowering' mean chopped springs?
Or a nice clean standard one with leather...

Hello Teggers, long time mate
Just get this: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...--2006/8251767
I have one and its the best car Ive ever owned by a stretch - its effectively Bentley underneath so immense ride quality, but 550lb/ft means it really shifts as well, I was chasing an Audi S5 the other day with nothing in it. 35mpg on a run, double glazing, massage/air con/heated seats, 4WD and who doesnt need a 5.0 twin turbo V10 in their lives?

The only thing it's lacking is out right torque, other than the asthmatic performance from my 2.5tdi it's a great car for the cash, I imagine the phaeton is just as good but lower to the floor.
But after attempting to fix a disco 3, I never want anything in my life that needs the engine out for relatively routine repairs.
Tho I am led to believe that VW have made the v10 no where near as big a bastard get to as the Land Rovers

This looks nicer to me

^^ad has expired, just links to the home page.
what was it?
A nice looking blue Phaeton with 92K miles on it for 4,600 quid. I guess it was too good to be true.

Drive one of these as my daily, mine is the 5.7L so 20mpg is a nono but the 3L diesel would get you 30mpg.
What is a realistic mpg for the 5.7 hemi?
Around the 20 mark may be doable for the Mrs daily, always wanted one
