    Fitting a double din.

I've got a double din and have it all connected up but i just get a white screen. I have the correct ISO harness and there's no fuses blown. Any reason why it's not working? My aerial also doesn't appear to be working either.

U should try and connect it to an outside source first. If it powers up, it's already a good thing.
Usually with car ICE, you will need a 12V, an ignition (just use the same 12v to test if it powers up) and a ground. Thats all u need. There should be an output to the aerial, but make sure the radio works first. The rest will fall into place

Did you have to ground it to the chassis? I have a ground cable that has a loop terminal.

Ok sweet I'll see what happens. Would just a ground wire cause white screen though?

Bad grounds can cause all sorts of weird issues. Also you should have 2 power wires on the back of the unit, sometimes you have to swap them over (normally have bullet connectors fitted already)

What kind of double din have you got? I know when I fitted my mates pioneer with dvd it was just a haze on the screen until I connected up the handbrake earth as well

But if it has video playback (internet or memory card etc) it might still have the same feature as it’s supposed to stop you from watching videos etc whilst driving

I can only see one ground wire that comes from the ISO harness. Only other wire is labeled as the reverse sound thingy but that's no terminal on it.

Why would you need more than 1 ground? Ground is anything metal that is connected to the rest of the chassis

Because if you read what I’ve said previously with most double dins that have video playback etc they have a secondary ground that you Attach to the handbrake switch so you can’t watch videos etc whilst on the move

Yup missed that part :P Didn't know they used a ground for that too. But he doesn't need that part to get the radio/screen to work, cause the rest of the radio should still work as it should and titles would still be displayed on screen

    Fitting a double din.

Yeah they don’t advertise that it’s just a ground, they say it’s a handbrake wire so people don’t just ground out permanently like I did. I also thought the same And wired his head unit up and said well leave the handbrake for now as it shouldn’t make a difference, turned it on and it just had static across the screen and wouldn’t function, ground out the handbrake cable and it worked instantly

No need to do that mate, just ground it out. That’s all I ever do with handbrake switch cables anyway
