which battery have you got fitted?

I want to move the battery from the engine bay to the boot so I can have more room in the E30 but unsure what the S14's run?

at the minute iv got a BOSCH 075 which is 61ah & 600cca... I know its the wrong battery but it fits and worked fine until I could relocate.

    cheers

Looking at the Nissan ones they’re meant to be 570cca according to the catalogue... but if I can fit one smaller then that’s ideal for me because they’re smaller in size too

I have the odyssey extreme 40. I recon it would do a few laps of Silverstone on the starter motor if needed.

ive no idea what the standard CCA and AH is unfortunately. the 40 is not much more money that a 30 but the spec is mega in comparison. I got mine for nothing but had the choice of the two so went for the biggest one.

How is it going to be used ?

If its a daily driver or its going to be on a battery conditioner inside when not in use, then you don't need the cranking amps.

If you are going to leave it outside and spark it up once a month for a 5 mile drive with the ICE on full blast, get the full-fat CCA.

Something that's 440 CCA for instance will be fine for a daily driver getting a proper run most days.

Also depends a bit on what alarm you have. If its a clifford, for example, I'd go full-fat and get something with 570 CCA.

It should be easier to find the right one for you given its in the boot as you don't need to worry so much about shape and terminal configuration. Just make sure you're terminals will fit on the knobs

    Extreme 40 is 500 CCA 43 Ah, 30 is 450 CCA 32Ah.

They're feckin expensive though ! Lots of race-car tax.

If I was going for a proper full-fat occasional starter, I'd go with something like this for the sort of money that the Extremes come in at...

For something close to OEM spec...

Or something more lightweight and economy...
