    Cutting locking collars on coilovers?

I got some gab coilovers on my s13, their in really decent shape and all the dampening adjustment etc still works, but my locking collars are seized. Ive tried everything so far, even a pipe wrench with a 2 metre long extension isn't of much help, only helped to unseize it a BIT on one side (still can't adjust with c spanner) but it ruined my collar.

I was wondering if I can just cut the collars off and replace them with new ones. I'm not sure where to find new locking collars either so can somebody point me in the right direction? Thanks

seeing as you are in brum you could pop into driftworks with one and see if they are the same thread as the ones they sell.

to cut the old ones off I would cut 3/4 of the way into the old collar then hammer in a chisel to crack the last part open.

Here's what fixed that issue for me.

Soak it in a bucket of diesel for a couple days. They'll come right off.

Or soak in Coca Cola, legitimately frees them up. Makes you wonder what it does to your insides!

my locking collar on one side is already so destroyed, there wouldn't really be much point in saving it as a C spanner doesnt even fit on it anymore, I found some spare collars though that ill test if they fit
