    Electronic boost controller

Hi all I have fitted and wired up my hid electronic boost but it won't adjust the boost but holds it at 8/9 psi as I'm running stage 1a chip so I expected a couple of psi increase in standard with the mods.

I can turn the dials all the way up and still no difference.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers

Never heard of a HID boost controller. You got any pics? Did you put it through a learning process??

Never used one of them. Does it not have any instructions? With the hks evc you put it through a learning process before you turn any knobs. Not sure about yours

    Port 1 is unused
    Port 2 off to actuator
Port 3 off to controller in car

Why is port one unused? 1 of those needs to be plumbed into a vac line from the inlet.

There has to be a vacuum source from the plenum to the actuator and this solenoid sits between them to act as the governor

    It's incorrect. The instructions:
    http://www2.hybrid-power.com/install...20SBC-D-SE.pdf

    Diagram 7

Port 3 needs to go to the turbo outlet nipple by the looks of it.

Why is Port 3 going anywhere near the inside of the car? The solenoid is mounted in the wing - the purpose of the wiring harness running from the solenoid is to tell the controller what's happening.

It's port 3 that's the issue. It's currently seeing vacuum and it needs to see boost pressure. It needs to be connected post turbo, ie the turbo nipple.

Installed as in the instruction pics port 2 to wastegate

Port 3 vacuum and to the back of the controller

    Port 1 empty and unblocked

So everything is as should be how do I test the solenoid as i think that's the only possible issue it has power I can select hi and lo boost

Port 3 HAS to see boost pressure.

Boost pressure from turbo side goes to actuator head and opens actuator spring once desired boost pressure achieved. The solenoid sits in that loop. At the moment it's swing vacuum and vacuum.

port 3 is one single line (no 't' piece) to the turbo outlet /hot pipe/turbo nipple in compressor housing (if t25) a boost sourse ,
the vacume line is separate feed to the controller in the car from the fuel pressure regulator vacume line
going by the rotated neck pain instructions

If you have the ability to do a boost leak test you can pressureise the intercooler and intake manifold which will active the boost controller it will try bleeding off some pressure

The actuator on the turbo cannot see vac as it can damage it

You need to find another source that goes to the back of the controller. If you have a boost gauge inslalled plumb in a t-piece from this for the controller feed.

The solinoid plumbing should go from actuator to solenoid then to the intercooler pipework (ideally) uninterrupted.
