What grade oil in my build?

So at the moment I have golden film running in oil jus robbed the engine in & I am now looking at what to replace it with...

Was thinking Fuchs titan Pro oil but not sure with grade, anyone help?

It's a forged SR20 with a Garrett GTX3076R, to be used mainly on the road etc

Was told 15W50 but not sure

So 10w50 is the best option for mine with my turbo setup you reckon?

motul 300V is what ive used in my Sr for the past 10 years.
when I have finished running it in on mineral oil I will switch to a cheap fully synth for a while to flush out the remainder of the mineral oil then go back to 300v

Firstly how often do you plan on changing it? if you are one of these OCD 3k or less people then a £50-60 oil is a complete waste of time as you will be throwing away new oil all the time, just get a £20 5w40, it will be fine. Most new oils are VERY good and for what you use it for you wont get any different results from the £20 oil than you will the £60 one unless you go for extended drain periods (and that means 20k+) or are doing a lot of track work with high oil temps (120C+)

Put the money you save towards fuel and drive it

I was thinking every 5-6k of changing the oil... the cost doesn't really bother me if I'm honest it's more the maintenance of the engine so I want to be sure of the right grade.

    Thanks for the help ;-)

the Motul 300v I get is 15/50 buts its fully ester. they also do other grades but im not sure what.
I should have stated that mine is a track only car so gets lots of abuse and high temperatures.

depends what you intend to do to the car/engine.

some of the fuch stuff is also very good and would be on my list of alternatives.

Why would you want to run a thicker cold grade in a road car ? I'd go 5w40

I use Titan Race Pro 5w40. It's good for a road car.
