Question time vvt vs vvt delete??
Pros and cons of keeping vvt or deleting the vvt
I'm fed up of rattle and heard a decent map can get rid of most of the loss from removing the vvt. Enough to not be noticeable
What are people's thoughts on this and have people done the delete before and had problems or not
Any advice??

the VVT gives it low down grunt and when it works top end,if you remove it or delete it somehow you won't get back that low down or the top end
through mapping imo as you now have fixed valve timing and no way of altering it,sure you can play with ignition timing/fueling to make it drive better
I think it will never drive as well and your regret the idea,
better if it's just the rattle you want to fix is tap into the yellow wire going to the solenoid and earth it to the plenum
you get full oil flow to the sprocket at idle so it clacks for 2/3 seconds on cold start up then shuts up,with a small loss of total peak power
unless you fit a micro switch to the throttle so it earths on closed throttle, open throttle no longer earthed you get the peak power as well

Costs a estimated grand to fix with solonoid and sprocket
Pros of keeping it is low end torque
Cons without a map it'll be doughy and take off like an old fiesta
For a grand you could nistune it and then add another two grand for turbos and injectors with mapping.
If you have an ecu and a decent turbo consider cams like procams
But it'll be decided by budget and how long you plan to keep it...

I removed mine and the difference is not that big. Sure I lost a bit peak torque but at least it is silent.
