S14 temp gauge flickering into high temps at normal operating temps.

    Hi,

Got a weird problem with my s14.
My temp gauge is flickering and shooting up at anything above 3700 rpm roughly 70mph. Also shoots up when going around left hand corners, instantly drops to normal if you put it into neutral and coast.
Car has had fresh coolant around a month ago and has been perfect for around 1000 miles. Coolant level is fine no signs of headgasket failure either.

Anyone had this before? Leaning towards cluster or a temp sensor.

    Cheers Rory

Mine does the same although it only flickers when I touch the throttle, I've heard it's the connections/dry solder in the cluster

Ahh cool will have a look into that, I know people have issues with the rev gauge etc.
