    Head Gaskets

Does anyone know where you can get a non Nissan and non Cometic head gasket from these days? FRSport say they have them until you try and order them and then they're out of stock.

Should of said for a CA18det

    Thanks
    Adrian

First page of google hits would hint that it's not one to use.

Got no experience with them.. Check eBay though theres a few different brands

Personally would go with multi layer steel or genuine nissan..

I have a nightmare with a cometic after my head and bloke have been decked. Keeps blowing in the same place into the water ways on the drivers side of number 1 and leakage between cylinders 1,2 and 3.

I'm only running at 1.3bar of boost so nothing nuts. Standard one can't be any worse.

I can find Greddy ones in Oz for $500 but that's nuts money

Heard HKS hg are very good as well, but to be honest your best off going back to genuine

Yup ARP head studs and discovered that the stud above the water pump doesn't tighten on the head but the thread that was irritating. Blown 2 Cometic since discovering that. Generally lasts half a trackday and then starts pressurising my water system like crazy.
Getting very tired now of dragging my car to the track for it to die.

Not looking for huge power but want to have long term reliability and the ability to stay out on track for a decent length of time.
The next stage is either to get the block ringed but I will have to strip and send the block to the mainland because there is no one in Jersey that can do the work which will basically end my season of fun.

I am getting fast on CA head removal.

I'd say if your not running big power and popping the stock composite gasket you have something else wrong and will struggle getting a metal gasket to seal up properly

Get the head pressure tested for cracks.

Would love to but there is nobody over here who can. So then do you just send the lot away to get it checked and ringed at the same time?
