No, will be a SP30, the 30 doesnt denote the speed limit its just the code for breaking the statutory limit.

SP10 Exceeding goods vehicle speed limit
SP20 Exceeding speed limit for type of vehicle (excluding goods or passenger vehicles)
SP30 Exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road
SP40 Exceeding passenger vehicle speed limit
SP50 Exceeding speed limit on a motorway

So his offence will be a SP30 SP60 doesnt even exist.

One of my friends had two bans on his license, one was a short term, think 14 days for 65 in 30 (had been 60mph road for 50 years previous and just changed) and the second a 6 month ban for 125mph plus on his way home one night resulting in a multi police car pursuit he was unaware of for several miles until he found his junction blocked when he tried to leave the motorway and the cars behind caught up, equalled huge fine and 6 month ban.

When he came to renew, with those two bans on, was a few quid cheaper.

I wouldn't even take notice of that price increase, it's so minimal compared to what us young ones are paying for insurance these days. my £1500 quote turned to £2500 with 3 points stuck on top, so £40 sounds a steal in my eyes Not to mention adding mods etc.. increases it by the hundreds. I can't wait until I'm 25, that's supposedly when insurance becomes very reasonable on most cars.

Most of that will just be an admin fee, I would have waited till renewal to tell them

    This!

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

the mondeo is renewal, hence £10 charge.....
They have me over a barrel, cos they know if I try to insure my Mondeo ST elsewhere when I can only use 2yrs NCB, the rate will be high compared to what A-plan charge as they ghost my max NCD from my R34 onto the Mondeo.... (£340 for R34, and £280tpft for mondeo)

Young drivers insurance goes down at 22, or at least mine did. Insurance companies bring quotes down once you've had a fast car for over a year too.

Specialist scheme underwritten insurers will require experience as a rating / acceptance factor. Others won't even ask the question to recognise it.

I'm getting the impression that insurance never comes down. I never saw a drop at 25 or 30. They just kept charging about the same £300/pa throughout. Cherry 100A, Cherry F120A, 910 Bluebird Estate, 910 Bluebird Hardtop coupe (age 25), Celica 2.0XT (age 30), 200SX (age 40). Only car that's been noticeably cheaper is 3rd car a Mazda 323F 1.6 GXi auto without drive to work on the policy and 6K miles/pa, £220, kinda makes up for the £280 tax.

What I think happens is they bang up the rates to younger drivers every 5 years and that's what they are going to pay for life. So they look at the price for 25/30 years old and expect to see that lower rate when they get to that age but the drop never happens, in part as they just move up to higher group cars.

Mark is right. Duty of disclosure is at renewal so you don't need to add it mid-term. The company I work for wouldn't have charged anything extra to add a conviction mid term, not even an admin fee so seems a bit crap that they're charging you. Why I stay away from brokers!! Also the difference between 2 and the 5 years maximum no claims is only about 10% where I work so don't be put off getting quotes elsewhere purely on your ncd level.

Of course it comes down, its just as you get older you get better cars. At 21 I was paying 800TPFT on a 1.6 Orion worth 3k. 20 years later I was paying 400FC on a brand new Focus ST worth nearly 30k

Are you just going to keep sig'ing quotes from people when they are nice to you?
