Most of them have some adjustment just swap some of the plates inside to reduce how aggressive it is

There are some numbers on the crown ring I seem to remember you divide the nubbers by each other

The s15 diff is meant to be a very good fast road/track diff

I had the diff off the other day but never made a note of the numbers I'll pull it off again on Friday and see what they are but it's very aggressive and knocks like a bugger

If it's like my Kaaz you disassemble the diff and lsd and swap the order of the plates mines at 66percent lock and it's great still locks nice with a boot of the throttle but makes virtually no noise under normal use

S15 helical is a perfect fast road/track diff. So grippy, with none of the harshness of a clutched lsd

S15 diff vote from me too, especially if you want to track it. Loved the one in my old Spec R so much that I bought a low mileage one that's currently sat in the garage for my ps13 when I get round to it

I was answering his second question, but yeah there might be a way to make his current one liveable like you said, he may get more money selling it to a drifter and buying an s15 helical with the change though
