Just done this on my s14 so thought I'd share I couldn't find a complete guide online.
This is useful if you've done a gearbox conversion, in my case a z33 gbox that doesn't have a speed sensor built in. I have removed my abs but I'm not sure if you can still use the system with functional abs.
You'll need a dakota digital sgi-5e. I mounted it in the storage compartment behind the handbrake.
1. Connect a switched power and ground to the unit.
2. Find the cable from your diff abs sensor that runs through by the spare wheel in the bottom of the boot. Connect the ground to "sensor gnd" and the other to "signal in"
3. Go underneath the car and find the wires to your speed sensor on the gearbox. There will be one red and one red and yellow. Chop off the red it's not required. Extend the red and yellow and connect to "out 3" on the converter.
4. Following the instructions, set the unit up on "H-L" mode (high to low)
5. Go for a drive with your satnav/phone and press the + or - button until the speedometer matches up.
Simple as that!
