S14a - No tail lights or dash illumination

When attempting to drive home tonight I found that the tail lights and dash illumination don't come on with the headlamps (which are working fine). Brake lights and indicators work fine too. I've checked the tail light fuse and it looks fine but I swapped it anyway with another known working one and there's no change.
Any ideas as to what may be the cause?

If it's lowered, check the loom that goes through the drivers side wheel arch. That would be my first port of call

Cheers guys. I relocated the loom a few years ago but I'll take a look at it anyway just in case it's chafed on something.

Yes and yes. The 'active' lights on the switches work but not the back-lighting that usually comes on with the headlights.

We have a winner! I moved it a few years back but it looks like it was still catching right at the rear of the arch, about 10cm from where it comes through from the cabin. All repaired now and working nicely, I'm lucky it only went through the one wire!
