If you are realistically looking at 5 yr ownership, I'd go for the GT86 OR....
get a BRZ. "Much more limited edition" and so worth more in less time and also looks much more awesome in blue

Toyota GT86 Turning radius 11.4 m
Acceleration 0-62 mph: 7.6 to 8.2 seconds
Max speed: 129.9 to 139.8 mph
Kerb weight: 1,247 to 1,270 kg
S15 Turning circle, 9.80 m
Acceleration 0-62 mph: spec R 5.5 sec
Max speed: spec R remove the limiter and find out >155mph
S13 turning circle 9.5 m
Acceleration 0-60 mph 180SX about 6.5sec (stage 3 200SX about 5 sec)
Top speed: 180SX 112mph, without limiter over 145mph (stage 3 200SX about 160mph limited by redline and gearing)
Kerb weight: 1,180 to 1,220 kg
A 0.3m (1ft) increase in turning circle shouldn't be too hard to get used to, 1.9m (6.2ft woo!) is a car width and is going to be much harder to live with. Though lots of people do seem to "live" with puddings that have 11m+ turning circles. This is the price you pay for putting a flat engine in the front.
When you measure turning circle do you turn the wheels to full lock and then set off, or do you start creeping forward and then turn as quickly as possible?
86, without a second thought. It's newer, therefore better.

Turning circles - try a V70 and then complain.
Seany - I had exactly the same views on FWD until I had my DC2. As a drivers car, of the cars I've had it's second best only to my current 911.
I think you need to drive both. Would you be happy with a bone stock 86 though? At the very least they need wider wheels/wheel spacers as the stock rims look lost under those arches. You'll then need to lower it... Same with the S15 though I suppose. Wheels and lowering make both look lovely. Tis a tuff choice. I think I'd have to go for the S15 though. Rarer beast, holds value well and is quicker with more potential. If you're patient and willing to spend the money you should be able to find a clean, relatively low mileage example. Good luck!
Aren't cars weird, would someone ask, what's better a 37" CRT or 34" 4k television?

Yeah, people go on about handling, whatever the hell that is.

Thats why i dropped the sx, i didnt want the hassle.
Plus i wanted something that did handle lol.
Just buy a Porsche.
advantage of the S15, is that you can buy it, drive for a few years and unless you wreck it, I highly doubt you will lose any money when you come to sell it. GT86 on the other hand will still depreciate.
How do people on here feel about rwd skylines? At half the price of an s15 are they a bargain. Or are they heavy and boring? Never even been in one in my life unfortunately.

Been a passager in an r33 gtst was slightly modded was suprised how long the front seems, was good though. Problem is it will always have the GTR above it. however i would not say it was reliable, my mate had to rebuild the engine twice in a short space of time. That may be down to the owners though.
On a side note I did use my S15 for a good 3/4 years as my daily and enjoyed it alot. I did have an oil pump let go on me but all the other problems where self made trying to mod/change/upgrade stuff on a time limit just did not work very well.
I have heard rb's suffer from oil starvation when you drift them hard but I am a shit drifter so hopefully it could handle me drifting a quarter of the way round a roundabout 😂😂😂 I have a feeling it would feel a bit like a big boat of a car though rather than a fun sports car.

As a side note, a supra has been my dream car most of my life and I could probably afford an auto tt. I'm not sure how boring an auto would be though. I don't think they would be the most fun things to drive in the world either considering straight line speed isn't my thing.
Maybe I should just fulfil my dream and buy one of them... unfortunately manual conversions are not cheap though.

IMS is massively overplayed. It is a risk but the percentages are tiny. Much like my 330d auto box that everyone said would assplode which lived on past 200k.
I'd be more concerned about a 3.6 scoring its bores which seems to happen with alarming regularity.
But you do really need 15k for a good C2 these days. You could buy at ten gees but you'd be taking a punt.
I'm too young to drive a Porsche anyway 😂😂. I am saving that until I am middle aged.
