You mentioned having a little one, and that makes a difference between the S15 and GT86.

There is enough room in the S15 to put a medium aged child in the back, but with the GT86 you don't even get enough rear leg room for a 3 year old

Also, all this talk of turning circles...that is what the handbrake is for? No?

That's good to know Scottie. It isn't a deal breaker but being able to share the joy with my family is a factor.

My 180 has no rear seats so I had no gauge as to what they might be like.

How did we even get talking about turning circles? 😂

I just think if you use an S15 as a daily it will get tired, fast.
Sorry to hijack, I went with the Porsche thing after selling up. Every time I go to start it I wonder, is this the time. If it all goes wrong it'll be an S15 or more likely a heavily modified MX5.

The prices are not the same as an S15 any more, but when the back end starts dictating where you're going it's fcuking glorious.

Seeing as this has been resurrected.

But a stock S13 will be sliding with much more style as its yaw angle will be around 40 degrees instead of 30. So how easy is it to maintain the slide in a GT86 modded to give 40 degrees yaw angle? Or a S13 with blocks on the lock stops to limit it to 30 degrees?

Yes it does however you want to use it. Practical daily use for parking it gets you into tighter spaces, or avoids a 5 point turn AND when you are sliding, turning circle equates to steering lock equates to drift angle.

    S13 70 degrees $700, cheap and cheerful.

GT86 65 degrees starting at $1,130.48 up to $1,356.58, 75 mm wider track.

    BMW E36 70 degrees.

    SO the GT86 loses.

350Z 65 degrees is another loser.

and with 65 degrees again the 370Z isn't going be hanging it out far enough either.

Feck knows what angle this is but a GT86 ain't going there. If you want use this much lock parking, you will have to get out and push the front sideways.

One American got rear wheel steering so wrong but knew turning circle mattered.

Not everyone’s daily is a skid car. Although 2nd hand prices are now getting closer

Why did I bother reading the post above? Why do I keep doing it to myself?

Wisefab is available for a GT86 and having drifted every car you mention above and also having increased lock on most of them using a few washers youre talking shit. Again.

But Wisefab can't deliver 70 degrees on a GT86 or 350Z or 370Z. They can for BMW and 200SX.

And "a few washers" on a GT86 steering rack will only match stock 200SX.

Why all the hostility back then...

How has it actually turned out now, 2019 ? Which was / is the best purchase, S15 or GT86 ?
