    Rally version of a trackday?

    Just at the pondering stage......

Due to the epic bad state of my local roads and ever increasing number of speed bumps..... I always said my next "fast car" would be something rally-esq, be that evo, impreza or maybe another GT4.

and the thought had crossed my mind that instead of a track day in the usual sense it would be nice to do a rally day if there is such a thing?

    So.... Does this even exist?

I think oulton park do them

tbh there seems to be an ever growing number of field based banger style racing meets popping up. I saw one advertised today in derby for £20. if you have a trailer or a flatbed etc.. it seems a like a good crack.. buy an mot fail car for £50 then hoon it round till it dies and scrap it on the way home. a good days laugh/racing for £100 or less.

You dont need an evo, scoob or gt4 for crap roads and speed bumps lol...

Just dont get a car with absolutely **** suspension.

My civic is on good condition standard suspension and catches every bump in the next Street on its under guards, I'm sure that none of the bumps in stoke are made to any kind of standard, some are so sharp it's like driving over a kerb and others are nearly 6 inches high in the middle.... They really do spoil any driving pleasure locally (at least most a 3 in a row and easily avoided on 2 wheels)

Depends on the car and suspension.
My e46 msport was awful, it was bloody awful when stock and not much better with a set of uprated springs. Just no give and a ride that was shocking for what was a rather unremarkable handling experience.
Many Audis are like this as well, rock solid "Ring" suspension setups that are a joke.

My 5 rides so much better and handles way way better mainly because its not "lowered to the max" and on spastic sized alloys. Just great handling and good ride quality the e46 could never dream of.

If it does happen it will be to replace the civic, so needs to be baby/shopping friendly... I like how I can just bash the terrano off any poor quality surface with no damage, so to be able to do something similar at speed really appeals

I did a rally day, it was alright. Was expecting a bit more tbh, not a great deal of seat time given... loads of us. Done in 106 rally cars that felt tired. Found I was not very good at it lol, under steered everywhere. Then my Turbo gaskets went on the way home. Double plop!

If it pans out whatever I get would be good enough to do a traditional track day in anyway, just thought it would be a good option for a play if it was available

Brands/Oulton to name a couple that do rally day experiences.

Sure you can do the same on the RAC course for Rally GB in welsh land also

Not sure about using your own car though. Just get one and bomb around you local green lining place!

Pretty much every evo/scoob ect that i have been in or drove has had suspension stiffer than a porn stars pecker.

Already got the terrano for pay and play...

It's not a case of uncomfortable ride, I'm just fed up of bashing the undercarriage of every fast car I have owned, if I ever fit coilovers to anything again it will be to increase the ride hieght

sounds like you need to buy a standard s13, stock ride height will be good for green laneing and its fast enough to do track days.
