As Title really.
Does any one know of a front wheel drive gearbox that will fit onto a SR20det?
Cheers.

Almera GTI? Pulsar?
Was pulsar not 4wd?
FYI the FWD gearbox will only fit a FWD SR20, you can't bolt a FWD gearbox to a RWD SR20.
Even if you change the bellhousing?

So just get the whole gtir setup as it has a better turbo too?

I did see talk of using the upper and lower oil pans from the RWD SR20 to make an Almera block fit in an S13 as more gearbox holes match up and there was something about the correct starter and flywheel combo to use but he never confirmed it, might be worth looking into though? It certainly isn't just bolt on and love life.
Ok cheers.
the gtiR engine is better all round, it has solid lifters so can rev without popping shims. it has better oil supply to the main bearings. it has a better oil pump.loads of small things.
the weak link on the pulsat gtir was the gearbox,it used a normal NA sunny casing with a shot peened gearset but the bearings especially lack
proper 3rd gear support,so 3rd under power repels/shaft flex and the bearings always failed and munched up things fast or just stripped 3rd of teeth
quaife did a gear set but it used the stock bearings, and no room or material area in the casing to make a bigger bearing a doable option
the group n cars nearly munched a box a stage or it failed before the stage ended and just on 280/300? ft/lbs
seen a Swedish drag car running 500+ still 4wd on slicks but no idea box it used,it must have had a gearbox from another brand of car is my guess
as no nissan fwd box can cope with that to my knowledge, custom fit a 'box from an audi was my best option idea, but insane engineering costs + time
very little interchanges between the 2 engines, heads blocks cranks are all different,
the best bit imo is the throttle body stylee plenum the gtir motor was blessed with
the above is what I found out a while back when considered doing some thing boosted and fwd and killed the idea tbh
it always seemed the gearbox casing was quite weak, now i dont know if that was because sprockets/bearings were being thrown out of it or if the box casing was too thin in certain areas. there were a couple guys back in the day running braces and beads of weld around their boxes, dont know if that helped
Afaik it was a 5 speed but based on the prehistoric 120y 1970's sunny 4 speed and designed to handle 70 lbs ft? so yep the casing is thin/weak
the later sunny primera's etc can have bearing problems on standard sub 100bhp engines and at very low miles
instead of designing a 'box that can handle 200+bhp,they just shot peened the gearset as the usual cost cutting exercise
If it was me pending the intended chassis,I would bin the SR20 idea ,and sell it to fund a complete car A3/seat/golf 1.8t,
seen them at £395/500 price range for the whole car,so bits to sell on after you nick the engine box loom ecu etc
easy tuned and stock gearbox can take an incredible 750+ ftlbs/whp and swap that into a smaller chassis like a micra/corsa/polo/yaris
a 1.8t lupo would be interesting to drive. but then so would sticking the gttdi out of the mk4 golf into a lupo.
