Painting inlet plenum with wrinkle paint.

I want to tidy up the look of the engine bay by spraying the plenum with black wrinkle paint.

Do i need to use a specific primer when using wrinkle paint, or for spraying aluminium in general?

When I did mine I didn't use any primer and it's still on there to this day with no problems. I used vht wrinkle stuff and I'm sure on the can it didn't say anything about a primer could be wrong though
