Weird boost issue. Collapsed elephant trunk?

So I got the s14 on the road with stock boost and now & then when it got hot it would get to around 5700/6k revs then buck like fuel cut or a boost pipe popping off.
I have tubbed arches and the trunk is a little kinked so I lifted it up and from then on it's been fine till tonight.

I fitted a manual boost controller and it's seems to boost to 10psi then drop off to about 5psi and when it got really hot it started doing the bucking act again.

Would this be the trunk collapsing again with upped boost???
I can't straighten the trunk much more and it has a slight bend/pinch where I had to bend the hose under the hotpipe

Does it do it if you use less throttle?

    Is it a standard trunk?

It's the stock trunk. Just wonder if it is that sucking shut at high revs on boost.

I'll have to check but I'm pretty sure it's only on full throttle it does it

Does it still have the wire spiral inside? If not there is a good possibility it's being sucked shut

Easy enough to feel my finger the other side. Could it be this causing the issue?

My need to cut the tub out some to have the trunk straight

Had same issue before on stock trunk with it sucking shut. I made a solid intake setup which solved the problem

Will look into doing something. I have to go under the cold pipe because of the stupid tubbed arches. Worse case I'll cut a large notch out the arch so it can fun over to the headlight area

First thing I'd do is change that manky filter, take it off and do a few pulls to confirm it's the trunk.

I'd be more worried about all the hot air coming off the radiator
