I know it's not the best option but been told it's a pretty easy swap hu knows how long I could be waiting for a decent ca yeah could buy a sr for 700 be tall block if that then I'd need all the other bits and pieces just wanting a fast easy fix

An engine swap of any variety will be the opposite of a nice easy solution.

why not buy a 500 quid runabout?

seriously a 1.2 shit box diesel would be faster than your car with an rb20....what's the point?

it's like saying your gonna fit a 1.0 na diesel engine in it..

It would. But don't kid yourself that slotting an RB in will be cheap, easy and simple. No swap ever is.

I have been at it since MAY.

It all bolts in and away you go my arse. It does if you just whack it in for a track car.

I would never go through all that again or finish it if i put an NA RB.

    See my build thread.

Spend the money rebuilding your own engine that way it will be all fresh. You can buy a 2nd hand lump and it goes pop 6 months later.

    dude you have another car.

why the **** would you want to waste several hundred pounds buying a shit engine, then several hundred hours fitting and getting it running properly, to have a car slower than your daily ?

that's like me saying I'm gonna remove the 2.8 outta my beemer and fit a 1.1 because it's cheaper...

If you're going to do a swap, make sure it's something worthwhile. Honestly, it is not an easy or quick job so the end result really has to be worth it.

Is an rb still in budget with the looms and ecu? Does it then come with gearbox and prop or do you have the ca and does that fit? Do you need front cross member like other rb swaps?
