    another what car thread!

hey guys after some advice, I always get the best answers on here compared to any other forum!!

Basically it looks like my bmw 530d should be sold soon. I am paying some loans off but will be left with about 2500 for a car.

Main purpose of the car is work and back 14 miles per day 5 days a week, and the odd trip out with my 1 year old when the wife is working. When she is not working we use her disco 3.

I dont know what to get!!

At first I thought get something that should be fun to drive? like a fiesta ST

Then I thought you do 120 miles at most per week so get something with a bigger engine at 18-20 mpg.

Then I thought get a small corsa diesel and just save save save.

    Feck knows!

My bmw is a stage 2 remapped 530d LCi with 300hp and 720nm, I dont need my new car to be as fast, sick of speeding fines anyway!

No convertables, there for ladys imo!

    Any recommendations or thoughts?

    Cheers lads!

2.5 k deposit and pcp deal for about 250 odd a month.
It was that or the FST for me, the mx5 one out of being special and better interior.

Very happy with our civic 1.8 ivtec, amazingly flexible seats for clever load space, only 50 ltrs less boot space than a v70 when tipped.

Comfy enough and returns 40ish mpg going work.

We gave 2600 for a 56 reg with full mot and service history.
Plenty quick enough. Cheap insure and a Honda so no mechanical issues at all....
Overall highly recommended if you have kids. Our 18month old is very happy in the back and they have isofix etc as standard and 90 degree opening rear doors (a lot more useful than you expect)

Or for a nice comfy option a v70/s60 but won't be as good on fuel

    XK8 Coupe ? It won't depreciate much.

Compare the condition to an S13 for £2500 and it starts to looks better.

Just thought i would update this, I ended up going with a pug 407 for a bit and then got myself a clio 172 cup.

Great little car with a few mods, enjoyed it so much I decided to look into sprinting as its something I've always wanted to do.

Running around 195 bhp at the min, with a weight of 940kg. Aiming to get down to 850-875 full caged etc by Feb when my championship starts.

Now looking for either a transporter/transit/vito or a pickup to tow it about

realistically 2.5k max, but some posts on the owners clubs are making me lean towards an L200. Plus it would be good to have air con, and a pick up is great to throw logs in the back for the log burner

I love the escalation. "I need a daily commuter car" to "I have a dedicated trackday car, now I need a tow vehicle"

It should be a load of fun, good luck with it!

As for a tow car, probably best you don't go for an old Land Rover, or you'll spend most of your time fixing that instead of the Clio
