Apex type 2 fmic nipped for vacuum pipe

Hi, bought one of these off the forum but now notice that pipe is welded where normally there should be a nipple for the vacuum off the solenoid to go into.
Anyone any ideas why? Not sure where to put the vacuum pipe now.
    Thanks. Navi.

Just buy a boost nipple from ebay and put that in the coupling between the inlet and intercooler piping.

Drill a hole in the rubber, put nipple in, put the rubber seal on the back then the nut and then tighten the nut with a spanner. Run hose from nipple to solenoid.

Cool. Just couldn't understand why the original is welded up. Must be a reason for it.

Previous owner might have been running from a nipple on the plenum.

Yeah as Jonny says, it doesn't ultimately matter where you run it from. Removing the charcoal canister usually frees up a vacant nipple on the plenum for example.
