    New boost controller time

    Hi guys,

The time has come to get an EBC in the car ready for mapping. From having a look it seams gizzmo is the way forward, previously had a Freddy unit in the old car.

So on having a look I have found 2.
    This.....
    http://www.driftworks.com/gizzmo-ms-...ontroller.html

And this RPM dependent, shift light etc
    http://www.driftworks.com/gizzmo-ibc...ontroller.html

Price wise isn't an issue. Is the 2nd one a much better piece of kit?

    Cheers

    Matt

I think Daz on here has an Apex-i AVCR for sale for about £200. I'll be seeing him on Sunday

I have an older version of the gizzmo and cant fault it, although it does resemble a taxi meter

Love the look of the newer profec but wont be changing from the gizzmo because of how it looks

Likewise, I do like the look for the oled. However I was thinking of small, simple and out of the way. If I could find a new greddy within budget I would be tempted. But like you say the gizzmo is simple and effective.

New Profec does come with the added advantage of being able to "upgrade" at a later date with the Profec Map which allows gear dependent and temperature dependent boost control which is pretty neat.

At the moment I have a chipped ecu (rb25) however am looking to go power fc, I don't think the budget is going to stretch to link....if by magic it does I obviously won't buy a standalone boost controller

Will be set up when mapped therefore realistically shouldn't need to touch it

Cheers for the linking but it's sold now. Posted it off this morning.

AVCR is an awesome bit of kit.

Fit a decent ball and spring type manual one, set the boost and forget about it. Spend the money you save on fuel enjoying your freshly re-mapped car

I do have an MBC that was on the car, I just wasn't sure that running a 400bhp car on an MBC was an overly cleaver idea? With boost spikes ect.

However I guess it could do for now

Personally having ran two different MBC then switching to a gizzmo EBC I fail to see how people can think they do as good a job. A well set up EBC will bring the boost in a hell of lot better than on MBC and hold a lot steadier whilst not overshooting. That's my experience running 1.4bar on a 2871 anyway.

Mbc is fine when starting out. When running big power, a proper boost controller is a must.

So are we saying the cheaper of the 2 gizzmos is the way forward?
IF I can find an power fc lol. If not I could be going link (after saving) and this plan will go out of the window

I run the new V3 which is tiny and super easy to use. I think the V2 is nearly the same functionality wise just about 3 times the size.
