Just took delivery of the second Z yesterday (spares car).

Still not sure what to do with it. The chassis is in pretty good condition and she was made a month after my current car in the same factory (both UK cars).

Think it would be a shame to let it rot and take the occasional part of it (that I could probably source online anyway). It might up end going RB25 or 1JZ.

    Dude that's awesome.

So with all these cars knocking around what's happened to the Supra?

Supra (both of them) is still around matey... we are just expanding. Going to have a look at removing the decking down the side of the garage to put a car port there instead.

The 200ZR came factory fitted with the RB20 so might make for an easy swap if you can find the crossmember and rear sump.

Yeah, it's a real shame they never opted for the RB20 in the UK model. Definitely worth considering. I know you have to chop around the slam panel to get the RB26 in.

It would be nice if I could keep the whole car Nissan. Maybe a built RB20 could be the way to go.

Made a start on the Z today Got the old rusted out exhaust off and suspension released. Hoping to get the rear subframe dropped and out tomorrow.

I have an S13 subframe on the way which, with a bit of farting around to get in, will enable the car to take use of the benefits of a multi-link system and far more options for performance parts.

    Away with your trailing arms!

After a lot of penetrating oil and copper slip, the old subframe came out today.

I think these have seen better days!!

Wouldn't surprise me if they were the original shocks that came with the car.

Yeah, all good me ole chum. You ok? I had a few delays before I could get started on the Z, but we're finally there (I think). I don't think it'll see the road this year... the 'to do' list is getting quite long...

    Fit S13 subframe
    New brake set up
Coilovers (maybe bags... are we too old for bags?!)
    Over fenders
    New wheels
    Poly bush front end
Custom stainless equal length exhaust headers
    Custom full exhaust system
    Fit full silicone hose set
Full respray in gloss black/body correction
    Fit FMIC
    Fit boost controller
    Fit wideband AFR
    Fit ICE

So, the list of things to do is increasing quite rapidly...

While I wait for the subframe and diff, I have starting pulling the rear end apart to start any body restoration work that needs doing. As expected, every single stud snapped off on the rear bumper and someone had put the rear lights back in place with a load of bathroom silicone at some point so they were a complete PITA to get out.

For the time being, I have removed the loose surface rust and kurust'd the areas.

Yes buddy. They came as standard on the UK-Spec models.

    Looking for opinions dudes...

The car is going to be gloss black when she's finished.

I'm thinking about a set of Rota D154's in steel grey to suit. Kinda has the 80's OE feel to them.

Removed all the surface rust and POR-15'd the rear end today.

Took the diff cooler off, cleaned it up and gave it a fresh coat of paint.

The brackets for it had seen better days. They're now freshly painted and drying on my washing line, but for the time being, you can see the comparison.

The S13 subframe is here! Massive thanks to Pointz for helping me source it and picking it up from Reading for me. Top man.

Gave it a wire brush off today. I'll get it painted tomorrow.

And, as per usual, my assistant was alongside the whole day...

Finished all the rear end poly bushes last night. Going to give everything a clean up and some paint.

Arch extensions have also turned up so I offered them up...

I've had lot going on and been pretty busy so my build thread has been neglected, but for the time being, this summarises where I'm up to now...
