£6,500 for an S13? Wow
Especially one with a knackered engine
On the face of it, it looks pretty similar to my car in terms of condition and mileage (apart from the dirty interior and destroyed bolster).
We were talking at the club meet about what sort of price I should put mine up at if I decided to sell and the consensus was around £6K.
There are a couple of ropey examples going for around £2500 and a few very average ones have achieved over £3K recently so, whilst I think he is pushing it at 6,500 , someone might pay £5,500 if he's patient.
If you had £15K to spend on a project, putting 1/3 of it into that as a base could be viable.
It seriously lacks underbody and wheelarch pictures though and they might tell a whole different story.
For the money, this would probably be a better bet although it does have a crap engine in it

All older cars have gone up alot in value over the last few years, We put it down to new cars being so boring that everyone is still buying and enjoying pre 2005 cars. and no new "fun" cars are breaking into the market (except the select few)
Yes have been shocked in a new way at just what a good s14a will go for now.
As said above, over the last few years older cars in general (the driver focussed/enthusiast ones) have been going up a lot, some of it for Porsche and BM incredibly so, and this has affected the whole market.
Just look at what a basic NSX costs, or lots of other examples, and it's clear the SX is now in a nice position in the market.

2010 - on : 2007 RX8 PZ
1998 - 2004 : 1991 S13
I better fix mine then
The good news is it's a better bet to fix them up and keep them running rather than break now

Drift tax innit
wtf is he doing with 444 injectors and a stage 1 chip.
No you ****ing mong, it's due to the oversized injectors you're running on the ****ing thing.Due to the way it is tuned it runs rich on cold start and bogs down a bit
With it running that rich I'd be worried about bore wash and engine damage.
Definately agree that they have - Picked my red one up in 2008/9 for £1800 (standard at just over 100k) and had a huge shock when it came to pricing a replacement!
My first S13 was 1k 6 years ago. It was rusty as anything but mechanically it was pretty good. I don't think we'll be seeing many of those now-a-days.
My current 180 was 5.5k back in 2013. Can't believe I've nearly had that 3 years. Not that it has been on the road for a good wedge of that
Been lurking for the past few years and nearly sold mine three years ago, but while I can fit the kids in the back It's a keeper. Talking of prices, saw this on pistonheads: Mine's a second car's got 46K miles and garaged and is in lovely condition. Is this the going rate for manual unabused examples these days?? Or is this bonkers? If so I might be hanging on a bit longer....

A bit more air time for S-bodies recently was over on EVO:

the rise of the digital car just means enthusiasts will want analogue honest FRWD format more and more apparently. Luckily where the 200sx sits nicely...
That pistonheads link is optimistic for a standard car currently but give it a few years and it may come good.

They have appreciated. But they're not mega money nor do I think they ever will be.
If you pay £9k for a nice standard S14 you're going to feel obliged to keep it standard, otherwise what's the point? Are standard ones with 20 year old bushes that great to drive?
So you think I'll do the bushes, ball joints, top mounts and dampers to make it drive like new. A specialist hands you a bill for £2k, now you're into it for £11k.
£11k buys a lot of interesting stuff.
Agree with Piman, they'll never be worth a lot of money.
