    Another subframe question

I'm halfway through cleaning up my s13 rear subframe and have burnt out the old bushes, Iv had a few searches and it brings back mixed answers but I have some polybushes to fit to the subframe, question is...... Do I need to cut the outer collars out or leave them in?

Depends on the bushes. Leave them in until they arrive. Test and if required cut them out.
Have heard many different things about the bushes. Mine were driftworks ones and needed the collar out.

As dukey said! Most do require removal of the sleeve but id leave it until you receive the bushes.

These are the bushs I have if that helps, little worried that the metal collar that sits inside of the bush is loose and doesn't fit tightly.

Get your chisel out & start beating out those collars.

Managed to get a collar out but still a little dubious that the metal collars supplied should be tight in the bush and not loose?

Didn't notice that! Once they are pushed in maybe they will compress?

Once you fit the bushs into the subframe the metal sleeve in the Center will be a lot tighter a fit.

    Wow, they look shit!

All of the well known manufacturers have a sleeve that's a tight fit on the bush. If the bush can compress enough to make those sleeves fit then the material can't be all that stiff...

Not driftworks (unless they've changed their design)

I think he was saying he's going to get DW bushes, not that he thinks the ones he has are DW bushes.
