Indeed! I have a few useful parts from my red one that would be an upgrade, so it'd be rude not to fit them! I plan to keep the that one too, but that's for another thread which will be started once there's a roof over its head!

    So, in no particular order:
    ABS delete
Manifold and turbo (from the not-yet-dead red one)
Theres 3 more gauges that go with the existing ones, they need to go in (probably replacing the centre vents) along with a wideband.
Might relocate one of the pillar pod gauges somwhere else to remove the obsctruction to the RH tweeter or relocate the tweeters. This one isn't important though.
When its time to replace the tyres I'll probably look at wider ones. Portsmouth roads aren't known for their smooth ride, and this is my daily.
I've been eyeing up the acrylic/glass department at work with a view to making replacement sun visors. The stock ones are fine, I just fancy making something. In fact, I'm going to pillage the red one after I've written this.

indeed, somehow this crash has been a blessing in disguise - I get to keep the red one for a long term project, and get a nice example to keep sensible(ish). Will give you a shout when I'm next on a trip that way

Thanks Possibly the first time ever I've got home and NOT taken spanners to it straight away!

    The journal bit:
On Friday the head unit went a bit nuts at me - additionally it really didn't like my music files format so I switched it out for mine. Nothing special but it matches the other lights on the dash

    Good!

So, new headunit pic to start:

Tried out some more cleaning action:

    Am I doing it right?

And now, the (perhaps) interesting bit - behold! A chunk of aluminium

I've designed replacement sunvisors, and have the finished the drawings for the prototype. Hopefully next week I'll get some time on the router and mill to machine the bits out.

    Cheers chaps,

Got a quick end of week update; Found a couple of tart parts on the bay of fleas that I thought would suit, so used the opportunity to rebuild the gaiter retainer with nothing but 4xm3 set screws + nuts, a keyring, a glue gun and some side cutters

Not so sure on the handbrake gaiter but I've literally only slipped it on - no fiddling with it yet as I fitted it on the way to work this morning!

Meanwhile the aluminium bar has been introduced to Mr Bridgeport:

I'm personally not completely happy with its function, but it is adequate for the job, so will complete these ones before I revise the design.

I did my CCNA years ago and let it expire, so if that counts then yes I'm computer systems engineer / technology specialist for a small international manufacturing company (about 400 people) so get to stick my oar in anything that uses electricity or is mechanical. I recently replaced our MPLS circuits because I could get 4x the bandwidth for half the cost and Newnet seem to have abandoned the old 1941 - I'll take it home if they don't come and collect it soon.

Got caught up in the IT, thanks!

Another little update: Glass/Acrylic dept are going to try and get the visor routed out this weekend!

It's been a few weeks, not much in the way of progress due to another project needing progression (that red one) but I have managed a little visual tweak by painting the mesh in the bumper and vents black:

I know there's a couple of people interested in the visors, sadly due to work building a new quality control dept for glass products nothing has happened on this. Will probably bite the bullet and get some material of my own next month as I've found a cheaper method to get the effect I want.

I am also dangerously close to clearing my overdraft this month, so I have celebrated by spending a little on underbonnet goodies

Plans added: I want to tint the tail lights, indicators and sidelights, and get the headlights blacked out to match with the bonnet.

thanks I feel like I've been slacking though. I've spent more time cleaning this than anything else so far!
Oh, I did change to an ester based oil, too but that's hardly something to write home about
