    Had coilovers seized

Went to lower my car over the weekend and found that the locking collar for the height adjustment through the lower section of the coilovers was seized! The lower part freed up and the locking collar for it just wouldn't want to move tried soaking in lots of wd etc etc tried an extra bar on the c spanner still didn't move what's best way to unseize these locking collars?

Seen a few people soak the whole thing in diesel for a few days if you can remove them and keep them off for a few days?

Put a half inch extension into one of the notches and whack with a hammer to drift it round

Be careful hitting them, you may snap it if it's badly sieved. You might find the only option is to cut it off and replace it but get replacement rings before you go down this route

WD40, drift and hammer has always worked for me in the past. The C-spanners just aren't man enough when they're seized. Good luck.
