Beaten by an Antiques show and Football

Evans is getting desperate trying to justify it by adding iplayer stats. Yes I am sure if you added the iplayer stats to the old show it would still piss all over you.

Hardly a surprise though, if the series opener was so poor you can't expect people to tune in next week for more of the same.

Last night was an improvement over the first episode, but if they don't sort shit out soon it's going to be dead in the water.

Watched it this afternoon on iPlayer and was disappointed again. When evans was wheeled out on the start was pretty cringe, as well as most of the words that came out of his mouth. Eddie Jordan is absolutely awful as expected, he wasn't any better presenting BBC F1 so no surprise he's awful here.

SIARPC was excruciating to watch, although not as bad as last weeks one.

It was probably a good 40 degrees in the shade,so not suprising

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

I just have the feeling they are using up unused Clarkson written scripts

Apparently Evans has his own guy writing all his gags (for all his shows)

The scripts from previous Top gear all had input from the three presenters, hence it being abit more natural. Now they've just got a writing team shoving scripts in front of people and hoping it works out.

I think even if Clarkson was trying to do a bad job it'd come out better than the current stuff

I watched the second episode last night on iplayer (ive not watched the first yet but im sure it wont spoil the story ) and I thought it was a bit up and down. Stars in a rally car was the worst part by far, over long and dull, once it was done I regretted not skipping past it. The 4x4 and Mclaren parts were decent enough, even if Eddie Jordan was blighting my TV with his presence. I was never super fan of the previous presenting team and thought their episodes got worse and worse in the more recent seasons with cringe-worthy jokes falling flat and the scripted set ups becoming repetitive.
Ill certainly watch more episodes but less Chris Evans would be appreciated as the rest of the cast are hardly in the show.
    Its gone!

I don't think he was main - they brought him in as advisory

Porter was script editor on old Top Gear, he's not involved in the Evans version afaik. Just checked the credits and no mention of him.

Which is part of the reason it's sucking IMO.

I recommend his book about TG, excellent reading
