So who wants to talk about the 8 million ‘economically inactive’ people Priti Patel is saying can fill the low skills jobs when she prices out most of the European labour?

    It’s a bigger problem.

In East Anglia, a few years ago, the unemployed youth were asked if they would fruit / vegetable pick. Majority said no because it is “immigrant work.”

Farmers will not be able to get the Labour that they need.

Interesting that it is left to daughter of immigrants to come up with this clueless idea

I was actually digging more at the point that those people don’t equate to a workforce. The bulk is made up of students, live at home carers, long term sick and those retired before 65.

Read a great break down of it by the ONS on the BBC.

Long term sick are generally people who are too sick to work.

People who have retired can obviously afford to retire before the age of 65 so why would they want to do a low skilled job...

Priti Patel is MP for the constituency next door to me and she is clueless

It's impressive that in a country of just 67 million we have about 12% of the working population sat on their arse doing jack all. Just twiddling their thumbs waiting for work................

Many of those same areas were strong or very strong Brexit supporters.

I feel no great urgency to help these people when the workers are no longer available.

    Look at the positives though.

1100 acres of prime Surrey real estate is coming to the market soon

The proverbial icing on the cake for the state of British attitudes regarding these 'jobs they couldn't get before due to foreigners':

A worker at Hall Hunter Partnership's Tuesley Farm in Godalming, Surrey, told Today it had had one English applicant in the last several years, but that they quit after one day.
It's a real shame, we must remember to blame the liars and not the lied to.

Good luck finding a liar though, best you'll get is lots of people saying:

"This isn't the Brexit I voted for"

Oh I meant more the people that spear headed the campaigns and the misinformation, the Johnson's, the Farage's etc. But I completely agree, it'll forever be words to that effect. Case in point, the fruit farmer.

And tbh, I understand some of their views. After all, they never knew what they were voting for despite however loud they protest.

DC is making good progress in draining the swamp, these remaniac civil "servants" believe they are above the people and the government they are in for a shock.

    Leon,

The thing is, the real power are the civil servants and they are unelected

    Did anyone elect DC?

It’s the same thing when Cameron had the Murdock camp in his back pocket

Agreed, civil servants are the real power at the moment but it would seem we are in the process of a regime change, to be honest I think DC is just the public facing head, the establishment do not like to go against the people this was verified to me when the Lords backed down, I suppose the illusion of democracy must be maintained.
According to Wikipedia DC went to Russia for three years after finishing at Oxford.
It will be interesting to see how the new government develops.

BJ has never adhered too any withdrawal agreements.

Yes, we know the EU fell for BJ's bollocks which allowed him to manipulate parliment into a general election.
