If you look at the demographics its over 60s that voted to leave most, ironically the people who are coming to the end of their working lives and IMO staying in or out would have least affect on. 72% of 18-24 years olds wanted to stay in, its also interesting that the university educated voted overwhelmingly to stay in as well, as did 75% of MP's.
With the greatest of respect to the old timers its not them that are going to have to live with the effects of this, they are less likely to have checked the information and its lead to what I believe is the wrong direction for the UK. Democracy is great, but when the outcome of a decision affects some groups a lot more than others it may not be the best solution.

I said the same to a colleague a few minutes ago. It's a decision that will change things for a lifetime, so why allow the people that are nearer the end of it to make a decision. Perhaps put a cap on the voting age - Not that would ever happen.
Could I see myself saying the same thing if we had stayed in, proably not, but I hate not knowing if have a secure future for me and my children.
Well lads, it's only a matter of time now until Scotland have another independence vote. Sinn Fein are calling for a NI referendum to leave the UK and rejoin Ireland, as the majority voted to stay in the EU.
We just need to convince Wales now and we'll have our own Celtic empire surrounding England

Brexit to be followed by Grexit. Departugal. Italeave. Czechout. Oustria. Finish. Slovakout. Latervia. Byegium.
You couldn't make this up... Cornwall votes out; instantly pleads to keep EU funding: http://www.itv.com/news/westcountry/...g-brexit-vote/
I think one/two pepole on here need to look at there history, without the 'OLD' there was agood chance you'd have no free speech, and that the 'OLD' did work bloody hard to give you the life you'v had and at the same time endure the hardships that came with it.
gonna have to disagree doc, many old/older people I know voted out, because they felt like they were lied to way back when we joined, everyone I've asked that's old enough to remember, has said it was (to them) a big shitfest, and they never wanted in, in the first place, and that the reasons they were giving for joining were basically false promises and a load of bull.
this left a lot of people bitter, and tbh, rightly so. so I guess to many of them they felt like they were leaving something that they never wanted to be in to start with.
tbh, I saw that the 'university educated' all wanting to stay in, half you seen half of these 'educated' people lately? 80% of students in uni are horny binge drinkers taking whatever drugs they find, and have no actual real life experience, a good chunk of them have never lifted a finger or worked a day in their lives. hardly anyone I'd trust the countries future to.
More whining than a phukt diff.
Amazing how folk just cant accept things.
Thats exactly my point though - what the hell has some bullshit cooked up nearly 50 years ago got to do with my future and my kids future? "I didnt want in 43 years ago so Im not even going to consider whether the current EU is a good thing" is utter, utter bollocks, frankly.
University educated doesnt mean people currently at uni, it means any who has been through it - you know, doctors, teachers, lawyers, scientists, MBA's etc., the sort of people you ask for advice on stuff ..........80% of students in uni are horny binge drinkers taking whatever drugs they find, and have no actual real life experience, a good chunk of them have never lifted a finger or worked a day in their lives.

she did not have a ****ing clue about half of the EU referendum.
just because someone's a lawyer, doctor etc doesn't mean they know anything about the country or EU, it means they specialised in doing one job, and one task. I know some people in 'high end' jobs and their ****ing complete and utter morons.
one bird I knew that was a solicitor, ( so well educated) didn't know how to top up oil in her car, wanna know what she did? went out and but 25 odd litres, kept pouring in till it poured out the cam cover, and hydrolocked her engine....
I'm just saying, because you have a particular job or education does not make you any more informed on matters that basically have jack shot to do with what you studied.
end of the day, maybe the older generation see something we dont? maybe, just maybe they can see/think that the 'remain' party were being fed the same bullshit they were all those years ago, and realised it would be another mistake to remain.
end of the day, they shouldn't be counted out because of their age, they have a shit ton more real life experience than you or i, which does give them a good amount of insight as to what could happen either way.
regardless , what's done is done, they need to pull their finger out, get that section 50 rolling so we can leave, and then start kicking all the lazy ****ing brits up the arse that have used Europeans as an excuse for the last 50 years.
Apart from possibly scientists, I wouldn't ask advice off any of those feckers !
I hope that most of us olduns voted out because they saw a bleak future where the EU was headed and voted to spare future generations from it.
I'm not anti Europe but I am antiEU. Everyone for and against knows that the EU can only be sustained through political and economic union not just monetary union. Even then, the differences in culture would tear the union apart due to work practice, corruption, customs etc.
