    Painting a car by hand

Has anyone ever painted a car by hand with a roller etc?

Looking to get my Landy back to one colour in the most cost efficient way possible.

Any tips or advice welcomed especially for choice of paint etc....

When I had my Vw bus there was a big thing about rustoleum. There are a huge variety of colours.
You can roller it on & looks good once a bit of prep work had been done.
Have a look on You tube mate.

I have painted my roof and rear quarters by hand, using a roller applied about 6 coats then spent hours flatting it down and then buffing. The main issue is not lifting off the coat you have just applied when putting on the next coat. So I let every coat dry for a week and then keyed it. Took bloody ages to do.

That finish would look pretty smart on a Landy as well

I remember Ed did a boat by hand using a roller, and said it produced an amazing finish (and he's used to working to a very high standard) but he said it took a monumental amount of sanding, and IIRC quite a lot of layers.

Made a start on it last night. It's not perfect but tbh I just wanted it in one colour

If call it a 10 footer!

Just realised I never updated this. Still got the wheels and roof to paint white and the hubs to paint black but this is how it stands now.
