Will this turbo oil drain be ok?

Hi guys, fitted a gtx2867r on my 13 and the housing comes very close to the actuator, literally about 1-2mm away, so I can't clock it any further without taking a lump off the turbo housing.

Now because of this the turbo drain isn't sitting perfectly downwards but was wondering if it will be ok ?

You should be able to rotate the core itself then adjust compressor housing to suit!

Loosen off the exhaust housing and rotate comp housing with core, then adjust comp housing.

I was always under the impression that it needs to be vertical or very near to prevent oil pooling in the core!

You could just just a little of the pipe and put a L shape silicone hose.

Was going to say the same thing, mine is about 2" of metal pipe and the rest is braided rubber house.

But off the turbo itself the drain should be in a vertical position.

You shouldn't have oil pooling in the drain neither.

It says 20 maximum! I have my oil drain near on vertical and never had an issue as i expect most people have it near on vertical.

It says 20° is better for cooling. This increases the coolant level in the turbo giving a greater wetted area and volume of coolant. Installed with oil drain at BTC means the coolant ports are horizontal. There will be an air pocket in the top of the housing that may result in the bearing chamber outer surface not being fully wetted.

They should make the cooling directional with one port higher than the other so it self purges the air pocket.
