Defi oil pressure change with the slightest throttle opening.

It seems like my oil pressure changes randomly whilst driving. I have just figured out its due to the TPS i think. If i let off and roll in gear, touch the throttle the smallest amount so the revs don't change the pressure gauge drops by 20psi then rais d when i let my foot back off. As far as i can tell its only the tps that could be changing anything right? But why?

Defi oil pressure change with the slightest throttle opening.

I find the same a slight drop in pressure at initial throttle opening. So it's not the defi gauge at fault. It doesn't drop anywhere near an unsafe level so I've never seen it as an issue.

Donyou think it could be voltage related?

No but the revs etc don't change so i don't see how it would change a mechanical one.

Does it do it when just the ignition is on?

Would tell you if it's the gauge or engine that's at fault

I don't know actually, good shout. I will have a check.

I don't have another gauge either to try.

I thought perhaps there was some kind of clutch on the oil pump?

There is no clutch in it, maybe the ecu does something when the tps is switched. Anyone know what happens when it switches.

Going back to this, its got to be voltage related and i think its the Alternator changing the voltage slightly making it jump. Can anyone confirm if the alternator switches with the TPS?
