    Hi from the South :)

    Hey guys,

I'm Dan, currently living in Plymouth

Been the proud owner of a 350Z the last four years, and can't bring myself to sell it.

So using the excuse of a 'daily' I've picked this up for myself :

Always loved them and hoping to bring it back to life and get the best out of it

Looking for suggestions on good things to start with (modification wise) and retailers/brands to go with for parts!

    Good to meet ya

    Welcome mate.

As boring as it sounds the first mods I'd do is a full service then look at the suspension bushes, arbs if your keeping the standard springs/dampers or a set of apex comfy coilovers and alignment arms if you want it lower.

Rarerims are based at crediton and offer a discount for Sxoc members so worth checking out if you're looking for wheels, evilchap who works there and is on here is knowledgable with what fits and works on our cars.

If you want power look up what's needed for stage 1a on the h-dev website as it'll see you with an easy 60-90bhp just don't forget to check and fit good quality breaks or upgraded parts

    Sort of what Chris said
He did mean brakes, not breaks. That never happens

It is a 1990s Nissan so pretty tough....except for:
    - the standard wing mounted intercooler (WMIC). If that is still in place, it is probably leaking air by now and causing poor running under load. A well fitting front mount intercooler (not eBay) is the proper fix , though a healthy item from a S15 is a useful improvement with no insurance fuss.
    - the standard fuel pump is no good if you start uprating power, and after 100k miles is going to conk out anyway. Walbro pumps are sold under numerous names, at 255 (lph) litres per hour, and one of those should last forever.

h-dev is Horsham Developments, a long time member and then trader on SXOC who has built up a range of ECU chip programmes and can post or fit them. These 'stages' of chips are best described on their own website, but are worth looking at if you intend to upgrade power in a cost efficient way.

    and, rust.
Get the car up in the air and have a good look everywhere.

Welcome mate! Nice purchase, whats the cars history.

a quick easy mod is to "debrick" her, i.e take the black plasitic number plate mount off and put it in the bin, reattach the plate if you like you could trim some of the excess of the plate to neaten things up too

are you thinking bigger wheels, coilovers etc?

    Thanks for the suggestions guys

The car was actually made a cat c in 2001 but was repaired at the time and sold on, but obviously that's a black mark on the car so I got it at a great price. Lovely really as I can make it mine and not worry about resale value.

Woman before me had it for 16 years but really didn't know what she had, so I'm glad it's come to me. With only 47000 miles on it too

Looking to get it to its best really, literally save it after not being looked after, which will involve new wheels, coilovers, bodywork, engine upgrades etc. A bit of everything really.

Currently in the process of rebuilding and upgrading the brakes (much needed) and a good service is due after that.

All these suggestions are great and I will be looking in to them. I'm aware of Horsham developments as they specialise in 350z tuning also so that's perfect really!

    Thanks

Good stuff mate, sounds like you bought a good car. Get a project thread started, it'll be cool to see its progression along the way.
