Insurance is coming up soon, is it worth getting a membership before I get a quote, I will become a member eventually but just saving for new tyres etc at the moment and wondering if it's worth while.

It's worth becoming a member regardless. There's trader discounts, member's subsidies for events, and access to the elusive members only area, which is worth it in itself, not to mention the lovely shade of green on your name.
^haha yeah it is worth it. I'm with Adrian Flux and got a discount that easily paid above and beyond my membership fee. I've bought lots of items where the discounts have also been above and beyond the membership fees. Japspeed, Spice weasel sills, Opie oils, Euro car parts and plenty others i can't remember

I got a quote from them a few years ago - it was pretty good. I asked them to re-quote as a member and it was about 50 quid cheaper. It actually worked. Very surprised but there you go.
