The guy I sold it too isn't using the box. He said he'd contact you & see if you wanted it. He's down near Bognor Regis.

I have a friend who's been doing my parts for years. I'll only getting them blasted then I'm going to etch prime & paint. I don't see any point in powder coating chassis parts as one chip & they retain water.

Offer was pretty decent of you and much appreciated, even if it didn't come to pass. Best spirit of SXOC and all that.

Project looks good, following your progress with interest. Wouldn't mind knowing how much you end up paying to have the rear subframe and arms sandblasted and coated - got all the parts waiting to do it myself, but no idea how much is a fair price.

    Cheers

Got sometime on the suspension arms today. Unfortunately I ran out of gas & cutting disks. I hope to get the ball joints out all the relevant bushes removed so I can get everything blasted.

Cut all the metal inserts out where needed. I then spent the rest of the day burning out the subframe bushes & beating out the collars.
I'd forgotten how tiring & dirty the job was!

I'm going to put an order in to Dw tonight for all the bushes I need.
If the weather stays dry I'm going to start on the underside of the car tomorrow.
    Cheers.

    Only a small update.
I pulled the tank apart today, all the bolts that hold the pump housing & the filler neck were rusted to hell. I had to mole grip them out as I couldn't fit a spanner on them.
Eventually got it apart & noticed it was a rusty inside.
Unfortunately when I removed the filler breather the tank end came away in my hand as it rusted clean off.
I need to see if I can repair that or I'll need a new tank.

Also stripped the wiper assembly out as the passenger side pivot bush was worn oval.

Then last night I bought these on DW. 18X9.5 ET30 all round.

Shame about the tank, I had the same happen to mine and had to replace the whole thing.

I think I'm going to source a piece of pipe & weld in a new vent.
Nobody on this side of the country seems to have one!

I should have known really as every nut & bolt has either snapped or needed a propane heat gun to free them up to get them undone.
Still the rebuild should gone really well.
As there's a rubber pipe in the tank I'll probably cut out the old one & weld something like this in it's place.

Managed to get a tank from a local member, while I was at his unit I picked a few bits off his dead shell, so I've managed to source the wiper blade bushes off his as mine are very worn.
Started to pick at the shell & found a few bits off rot. Nothing to bad but I'm going to tub the front end so I'll sort all of it in one hit.

Today I started stripping the underside of the rear end, I used a knot wheel on an angle grinder, a cordless drill & a selection of wire wheel attachments. I wire brushed to start with to remove the loose debris.
By 730 tonight I'd managed to get the rear half of the car up to the gearbox cross member prepped for underseal.

Hi bud, you picked a rx7 diffuser up off me a month or so ago.

Only just bumped into this thread and gone through it from the start. awsome job of stripping all that ready to clean up, much jealous of a clean s13.
tempted to stick with the 33 wheels? being rb and the colour you're going for, kinda suits.

Hi mate, Chris is well chuffed with the parts.
Thanks for the kind words. I've still got a long way to go but progress has been good.
I'm kind of in debate about the route I want to take. I went to Japday on saturday & have been tempted to go full Rocket bunny with huge rims & a massive cage. My issue with that is the shell is really clean & I'm not sure if I want to cut it up. Also I want the interior complete as I've done stripped before & the noise gets boring quick.
I'll probably go either Pre facelift bumper or full Kouki & keep the R33 wheels.

Ah cool, glad he's happy with them, I hadn't heard from him.

I went to japday, was on the stand, didn't see you.
Not sure if I seen a rocket bunny 13 there, I'd be inclined to keep The body work standard as possible on the r33 wheels.
Bodykits age, the 13 doesn't rocket bunny will be the new veilside style kits in a year or so, just me 2 cents.
Awsome work though bud whatever you choose

    That's very insightful.
Having slept on it I think I'm going to keep the body standard for now anyway.

Bought a spot weld drill bit to remove strut top supports. After a clean up I sprayed a bit of primer on there to protect until I make some templates.

I then wiped down the underside & undersealed the rear upto the propmount.

Rather than hacking the radiator core support to death I've just ordered a new one direct from Nissan.
For those interested the part number was 62530-53F25
