    F1 - 2016

Rather than having lots of individual threads for each race that normally die off mid season, lets just have one thread for everything for all year.

To me looks like it is going to be a deja vu of last year at the front. If they can police it, the radio restrictions will hurt Nico more I think. Ferrari abit closer at times.

I reckon the rest of the field are going to have a right old ding dong.

Mclaren look better, hopefully they can at least have a good tussle this year with Renault, Torro Rosso and Force India. Kimi looks happier with this car as well so lets see if he can take it to Seb. Mercs still the ones to beat though.

McLaren couldn't get any worse lets face it.

They are doing pretty good in fairness but the wet weather is mostly to do with that, hopefully will be a wet race so they can get some points on the board straight away to boost the moral providing there's no further reliability issues.

    Looking forward to the race!

    Didn't like it at all.
Interviews after the 'show' revealed that little Bernie doesn't like it either.
All change for the next one!

    My predictions.

Hamilton to win again, the drivers championship shock..
Merc to win constructors, shock horror
Rosberg to be pumped by hamilton more often than not - shocker.
Rosberg to whinge about being pumped more often than not.
Hamilton to say or do a stupidly controversial thing - every month.
    Bernie to get older.
Ferrari to make lots of hot air while just managing to be faster than most of the rest of the field.
Ferrari to try and change the rules so only red cars from Italy are aloud to win.
    Redbull to complain
Horner to shag a spice girl.
    Mclaren to be shite
    Alonoso eyebrows gain independent though.
Jensen to drive a segway round for racing (its quicker)
    Renault think about cheating.
Teams at the back still slow.

Meeting tomorrow morning to discuss change to old format.

Unfortunately Sideways i think you hit the nail on the head.

This news about Redbull and Aston Martin making a Wipeout style mega car could be interesting.

    Formula X, anything goes.

Was it a good recovery by Lewis or are the Ferarris not really any closer, obviously the restart helped massively?

Red flag helped Rosberg the most, Really hurt Ferrari and Lewis. But Rosbergs middle stint was great behind Vettel which is what gained him the win, shame Vettel ruined the end by going off on the last corner, i thought he'd of had a couple of laps to have a go but never mind.

Alonsos crash was ridiculous. Amazed he wasn't hurt.

Ferrari had that in the bag. Looks like the merc is quicker but if they hesitate even slightly Ferrari will have them.

Like ch4s program as well, except the adverts anyway.

    Enjoyed the race, hated qually.

Plenty of dramas and excitement, especially at a track renowned for not having much overtaking.

I thought Vettel jumped the start he was so quick Ferrari threw that away but it looks like Merc wont have it all their own way this year which is good. The Torro Rosso's are quick and would have done better if they wasnt tripping over each other, I can see a falling out there and Max is turning in the Vettel of 3 or 4 years ago with his constant moaning. Haas look handy and could finish above Mclaren and Renault. Manor still look shit even with a good engine

Think it will be a good year, Merc and Ferrari fighting at the top and then pretty much everyone else fighting for the lower positions.

I think if Merc get a good start, they will see off the Ferraris. Consider how Rosberg on medium tyres could stay with Vettel on supersofts. It's yet again the Aero that prevents overtaking

Just seen on the BBC that all f1 rights will be going to sky in 2019 , which although doesn't bother me ( my dad is as daft as a brush and pays to watch a green screen most of the weekend , so I get the sky go app) it going to hit veiwing number massively I would have thought.

I think the new quali should be given a chance.

Yes there was hiccups first time out due to teams not understanding the rules properly but that wont happen again I am sure.

The main issue is the huge amount of time before the knockout starts, for example you seen Vettel and Rosberg mess up their first flying lap but they had an age then just to set a banker lap, if the time until the knock out starts is dramatically reduced then it piles even more pressure on, I loved how frantic it was for the first five minutes and seeing everyone dicing for position on the track.

I'll look forward to seeing how it goes this weekend.
