He was on full lock, eventually.........

The guy has no ability to race cleanly.

I think he can race cleanly

But he knows there are a few drivers who are better than him when he does. . .

Oh yer he can do it but like you say he knows he cannot go head to head with several other drivers. The car flatters him and in a lesser car he wouldnt be anywhere. If you look at Lewis in the Mclaren the few years before he left and Alonso in the Ferrari they out performed the car and dragged it round by the scruff of its neck. Nico cannot do this.

Its not as bad as the Verstappen incident, its also exactly what should have happened in Austria between him and Lewis except Lewis just turned in, and Nico would have got the penalty either way.

He's really thrown it away the last 3 races, so the summer break is probably something he's going to need to try and re-group.

On another note, did Mercedes swap Nico's clutch into Lewis' car for the German GP lol.

Causing a collision is a bigger penalty than forcing another driver off the track, so in Austria if Lewis had gone off the track and Nico still won the race he would have only been demoted to 2nd.

Nico spun the rears up, it didnt bog down.

    Go Lewis.

More than a bit of luck to get there but a podium out of this would be awesome.

Unsafe release by McLaren with Alonso, that was always going to end in a smack.

Pretty eventful race, i will summerise as i usually do lol.

Nice easy drive for Nico, didn't put a foot wrong and got off the line this time so fair play.

Good drive from Danny Ric, showing Max how its done and keeping Lewis behind in the middle stint.

Lucky drive from lewis, he didn't really have any pace until the last stint when he had fresh boots, was burning out hit tyres faster than the other guys and benefited from both the safety car and the red flag. As well as Seb ruining his and Kimi's race.

Nasty shunt from Magnussen and glad to see he walked away from it, still strange to lose it there in such a way! Over 150mph impact.

Ridiculous driving from Max, I realise he's the future, but i cannot like the guy, his driving is dangerous and the way he defends by waiting for the driver behind to commit then blocking him off should be penalised but yet again he's got away with it.

Overall i'm pretty disappointed as the race was shaping up to be awesome, Ferrari may have had the pace to make Nico work harder and i think had more pace than red bull but alas bring on Monza, i'm flying out to Italy next week on Thursday and got tickets for the whole weekend

    Good summary.

You'll have to let me know how Monza pans out - thinking of doing that one next year. Off to Abu Dhabi in November for my second time there; so a change of scenery would be nice.

I'll make a thread about the trip on here, me and a few mates have booked a bungalow 10 mins away from the track for 5 days so really looking forward to going out there. I've never been to F1 abroad before but been to Silverstone a few times over the different eras (2004 v10, 2005 v10, 2009 v8, 2011 v8 with the weird blown diffuser sounding exhaust)

Think I am going to have to do Spa at some point. Are the tickets at other Euro circuits the same piss take prices as Silverstone?
