    gear shifter bushes

the white plastic bush on the end of my gear lever is knackered. (the socket is worn so it keeps poping out). i was going to just get a new plastic one from nissan, but have seen that you can now get bronze ones. has anyone fitted one of the bronze ones? what actual benefit do they give?
where is good to get one? ive seen GKtech sell them but postage is extreme from those guys.

I am interested in this too! I have heard that the solid bush is better and obviously won't perish.

But as you say postage is killer! Maybe we could get a gb together?

the plastic ones don't really perish. mine is just knackered. the plastic ones are about £6 so I was wondering about the bronze ones, as some people on here know all about where to buy random stuff like this. whereas I don't keep up with trends etc..

I bought one last year for about 18 quid i think it was. They used to be on ebay, i think it was conceptua tuning that sold them.

Perish was probably the wrong word! Wear is probably more appropriate!

Fitted similar on my FD, made a nice difference to the shift - more positive and mechanical feeling. Bit more drivetrain noise though.

Gaz, I've got a spare bronze/brass one I got from GKtech, drop me a PM and I'll dig it out and figure out a price. I did fit it but removed it for a plastic one - for a road car and a short shift, there's an annoying higher RPM buzz when your hand isn't on the knob.
    white '94 s13 200sx scrapped - mapped to 1.45bar. OS giken box, garrett GT2876R, 950cc injectors, ORC twin plate, nistune. 349bhp/325lbft @ 1.3bar CA18DET
white '96 s13 180sx - type g with more kouki bits - RB25DET, GTR steel twin turbo conversion, RB26 crank & rods. 2.6L VVT twin turbo, SR20 OSG box, OSG STR twin plate clutch, Z32 ECU w/ nistune.

current status: 180 a bit broken but to be repaired.
