A car popped up on my ebay feed as it fit an old search I have saved.
The car is a CAT D and they are claiming that it has NEVER been damaged in an accident.
Apparently, they have documented evidence from the insurer that the car was written off after a rat chewed through three wires above the petrol tank.
Bearing in mind that this is a £50K car, how can it have been uneconomical to repair it even if you had to completely dismantle the car ?
I've also puzzled a bit about how was it the responsibility of the insurance company to pay for the fix. I'm guessing damage by wild animals would be covered under an insurance policy but I've never seen it in a policy document.
Anyone any thoughts ?
p.s. I'm not going to be buying it, even though its cheap.
