    In reference to Audi S-line just means their "sport" inspired lineup of cars hence the S-line.

    That was I suppose different to today's "line" meaning sporty wheels and spoilers but no mechanical oomph.

    Line just implies "Sporty interior and maybe a bodykit" nowadays I think.

    I thought BMW were the first to use the whole word Highline on their old 6-series.
