    Repsonsive turbo for circa 340-350bhp

I have been searching through the forum a lot this morning to find the answer and I'm seeing 2871r creep up a lot for that power range, but also seeing other models being thrown around.
I use the car daily so reliability is also key. Which Turbo would give me good response but not stress too much at that power?

    Any answers are greatly apprecaited!

2871r is good for 400bhp with the right mods so not really stressed at 350bhp. The gtx2867r is meant to be a little better but is quite a bit more expensive and will need a bespoke map rather than the easier chip route.

But is it reponsive at 350? Would the gtx version be a better option for running slightly lower power? I'd like to do it right first time round.

Guess it depends what you class as responsive really. It's more laggy then standard but not massively.

Never driven with a gtx turbo so can't comment.

As far as price goes the 2871r is a good option as along as it isn't massively laggy. Cheers for the reply.

A 2871 is not laggy by any stretch of the imagination.

If you can afford a GTX2867 I would buy that.

Edit, there might even be an off the shelf GTX2871 now. There are GTX29's coming soon.

I'd maybe look at getting something fashioned for the job if you think it will stay that way for a long time.

For example, look at getting a hybrid made using a GT25 turbine wheel and a GTX 60 or 63mm wheel. It won't give you peak power out at 7000 rpm (more like 6000) but it ought to be pretty zingy and have bags of mid range.

Owen developments have a couple of hybrid options, or there are places like AET who deal with motorsport bits usually should be able to help.

Someone on DW was claiming 320bhp and 380lbs/ft from 2560R on an SR. Don't know how true, but would like to see the Dynograph.

my 2560r got 301bhp and 294lbs at 1.1 bar I'm sure if pushed further it would do 320bhp however my limit was in the injectors (I had S15 440cc in at the time)

+1 for pe1420 but so hard to get a hold of. Won't find them new anymore but do pup up now and again for sale at around £500. Managed to grab myself one just waiting to fit it, good for around 350hp and really responsive I've been told!
