4 Wheel Alignment – How Difficult Can It Fcuking Be????

Today I’ve spent pretty much ALL day trying to get my alignment done on my S15! I booked a day off from work and booked it in advance with Kwik Fit as I saw they use the Hunter system.

Booked it in a few days ago for 2pm, turn up at 2pm and get told to come back at 4pm, come back at 4pm and get told it’ll be another 1 hour 30 mins before they can do it and to come back the next day at 8:30am. Like I have an unlimited days off from work you fcuking pricks!!!

I just can’t find anyone who will do it now as Kwik Fit truly are a bunch of monkeys. I’ll need to book another day off from work and I’m even willing to look outside of town to have it done.

    Bloody joke this is seriously!!

    Two words. Kwik. Fit.

They have probably done you a favour, absolute incompetents in every way.

I've just raised a big complaint on their website as the guy that was fobbing me off was the 'centre manager'.

Problem is I don't know anywhere else that will do it now so am mega stuck!

Ask in your local area, good alignment is worth traveling for! Kwick fit etc will just play with camber and tracking, they wouldn't know Castor angles or anything like that!

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Don't know why you'd even think to go to Kwik fit to be honest.
Go on alignmycar and find somewhere close. Yea Kwik fit might have the hunter kit but it's only as good as their monkeys that operate it

LOL I'm one step ahead of you mate! I've already been on that website and enquired with a couple of places but both fobbed me off. See the response below from the last place:

Good Morning, I have spoken to the body shop manager, unfortunately we are unable to do this.

    Kind Regards

I do yep. I'll give them a call when I manage to book another day off from work. Problem is they'll most likely fob me off again saying my cars too low like some others. But will give them a try anyway.

Modest thread side question, not intended as a hijack, but what is everyone paying for a four wheel alignment ?
Fair price plus per adjustment, or including adjustments.... ?

If you still need somewhere for alignment I can recommend Ollie at Phoenix Motorsports in Accrington, which isn't too far away from you. They did my S15 a few years ago, very knowledge guy and has been setting up race cars for years.

When I got mine done, most places were offering a free check then £x per adjustment needed.

Because I had changed the coilovers, ride height, tie rods and traction arms that worked out very expensive for me. I felt most of them were a rip off as there wasn't any rusty, crusty nuts for them to try to get undone.

I ended up paying £100 IIRC but I wasn't happy that I got a good deal

Jatin, we have a deal with someone in the North West, see the sticky thread in our area, they are brilliant, well priced and have a great rep.

No idea why anyone would go elsewhere.

These machines are only as good as the people who operate them.

I've never played more than £65 for a full alignment, regardless of what has needed doing.

    Well done you.

Price varies from place to place and region to region. I don't think I've ever been lucky enough to pay less than £100 for alignment. Nope, that's a lie. Sumopower did a group alignment session which was pretty cheap. Daz was not happy with the experience though. Long story, don't ask.

Alignment seems to be another black art. Like engine mapping. Choose wisely. Just because they have the gear doesn't mean they have a clue what they're doing.

I'm nowhere near you so I can't advise on a competent garage, sorry.
