S13, 180sx, ps13 they all have poor lights tbh!
Could be worth checking the wiring to the bulb connectors and cleaning the terminals, also if you have a multimeter ensure they are getting a full 12v.
Best option though is to fit some hid's that's what i done, although i still need to do my hi-beams!
I find my 14a to be awful! Roads without street lamps scare me lol

Do you have J spec lights "brick" style or K's triple Projectors?
If you have projectors, get some Osram Nightbreakers H1's, improved mine no end.
If you have bricks, I think they are H4's but to be honest everyone I have spoke to about bricks says the light quality is shit regardless lol.
Hahaha! Ashdown forest scares me enough.. Wouldn't go near new forest haha I feel for you!!
