narcos i started to enjoy but started to get fed up with all the subtitles.

band of brothers and pacific i think are my all time favourite box sets so well worth a watch.

the walking dead I've been addicted to recently. I've done series 1 to 5 in the last 3 weeks

prison break is awesome but only the first 2/3 series imo.

Dexter, but only really the first 4 series. Maybe 5 at a push.
I've never seen anyone who can swear quite as well as Deb. Worth watching just for that.
Oh, and for a bit of light relief, Arrested Development and Archer are both incredible. All are on Netflix.

BB is hands down the best thing I've ever watched. Better call Saul is great and probably the logical choice after BB. I tried Dexter straight after BB but it just didn't compare. Prison Break was epic but, as said, seasons 1 & 2 are the best. Narcos is a must-watch IMO. It's based on a true story about one of the biggest ever drug barons and how he battles with the American DEA, rival cartels and his own government. He truly was a formidable and scary chap in his prime. MR Robot was OK if you're into tech / geek stuff. Then I got back into Dexter and it took a hold of me in a BIG way! I think I'm on season 5 but got distracted so need to get back to it... Nobody has yet to mention True Detective, especially season 1 with Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson which I thought was fantastic. Really dark and super moody. I'm currently nearing the end of Homeland season 2 and so far so good!

I've enjoyed pretty much everything mentioned here. Narcos, The Pacific, Band of Brothers, Prison Break Season 1 and 2. Lost. Better Call Saul.

    Consider Homeland as well.

Binging on The Walking Dead currently. Only halfway through the 2nd series but it's only been a couple of days. It's slowed down a little but I'm sure that doesn't last long

Walking Dead is amazing, but Season 5 is proving a bit difficult to digest for me. Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 are utterly brilliant IMO.

    Boardwalk Empire?

For something similar to BB there is Weeds

War film? Generation Kill was good, albeit short

    Ray Donovan
    The Shield
    The Wire

American Horror Story, rather unusual with the cast members appearing in each series (you'll see why when you watch it) but its entertaining enough

    now in its 4th Series

    1st series was good
    2nd was good
    3rd was a little slow
4th had the potential to be amazing (given the content) but didn't quite deliver was still watchable

Top Boy was good too, set in London gang/drug culture quite gritty in places

    Also recommend:

    Power
    Mr Robot
    The Americans
    The Knick
    Person of Interest
    Marvel's Daredevil
    True Detective

Some new shows that are turning out to be really good

    Blind Spot
    Quantico
    Agent X

If you want something a bit different

Daredevil is exceptional. Anyone started watching Jessica Jones yet?

Any idea what order to aim for as someone who thought BB was the best series ever?
Scottie, words cannot explain how great Band of Brothers is! It may be a bit dated now, but by no means looks bad from a graphics perspective. This is my single, greatest tv series and feel it will never get beaten. The fact it is also a true story just adds to the effect, even quite moving at times

You know... I have never watched Band of Brothers.... It's now syncing to the iPad, or should it be watched on a big screen with surround sound?

Thanks for all the great suggestions

Normally spend a lot of time reading but after BB think I need to catch up on some great series I missed in recent years

    Dedfinitely The Wire!
Greatest series ever, such great characters! Only 6seasons but they are hard and gritty oldschool feeling. 2003ish onwards.

I saw Tesco had a Luther boxset (first 3 series ?) on the shelves for a tenner. Worth a punt ?
