And, to be honest mate, turbo tech has moved forward a bit. For not too much more money you can end up with a GTX series turbo, I think there's even a GTX2871 on it's way.

Is the GT2871r / GTX2871 a low mount turbo? and fit a good quality tublar manifold?

GT2871R can be had for around £750 new now. The GTX turbos are the better option but I couldn't find one for less than £1050 which is still the price of a set of 740cc injectors so not negligible.

You can get both GT2871R and GTX2867R in low mount T28 flange with internal gate and 5 bolt exhaust pattern. You can get GT2871R with the stock SR style compressor housing as standard. I think GTX2867R are available at owen developments with a modified SR style compressor housing, and probably some other turbo places do them too.

I'd go for the gtx2867r turbo, 740cc injectors and a bespoke map in your situation unless you don't want to spend the money when the 3a chip and gt2871r are stil a worthy combo.

A 2871r would be fine for me and yes just get my hd2 chip swapped for a 3a chip. I only need a z32 maf the turbo and 3a chip. Would I need a manifold? I prefer to keep stock as not really worth the hassle of them cracking

    Standard manifold for you.

BUT, the Jez chip might mandate a tubular manifold.

I'm sure others have used the chip with a standard manifold.

Gerry, mine ran just over 400bhp but he's turned it back to 385 to be safe. I normally run low boost at around 360bhp

As Chris has said you can run the 3a chip with a standard manifold with no detrimental effect
